What is the best way to control your cravings?

Question: What is the best way to control your cravings, Especially sweet tooth  and the constant feeling to munch something or the other

Answer: I am a certified Sports Nutrition coach, please consider this. Food Cravings are Selective and Non-Selective. Selective food cravings for example are women craving very specific foods during pregnancy like Chocolates, pickles or ice cream. Non-selective cravings Non-specific cravings are when you are craving something sweet or salty rather than a specific food.

Many people backout of their fitness journey because they cannot resist the temptations of cravings and give up easily leading to binge eating and obesity. Let me tell you a simple hack and Trust me that works.

- - - - - Brush Your Teeth with Mint Tooth Paste- - - - - - - - - - -

1. You will find it hard to crave any of your favorite foods after brushing your teeth with mint flavored toothpaste. Nothing really tastes good after that minty flavor is in your mouth. Ever tried orange juice after toothpaste?

2. Brushing your teeth may help trick your brain into thinking the meal is over. You typically brush your teeth at the end of the day when you are getting ready to go to bed. Your body will pick up on this pattern and will begin to associate brushing your teeth with no more food for the day.

In addition to the above hack, also try Distracting yourself. Tell yourself you will eat that food you are craving after 10 minutes and drink a glass of water. Don’t let the food run in your mind. When you follow any meal plan don’t think “I can’t have that” rather think “I am choosing not to have that” . Avoid getting more hungry by Not starving or chances are large you will over eat or eat anything at your disposal.
